Fly Erbil: every route from Europe to Hewlêr, with days and live fares

Fly Erbil is the airline with the most direct flights between Europe and Hewlêr: thirteen a week, from seven cities in Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark. If you live near one of those airports, a Fly Erbil flight is usually the shortest way home. This guide lists every route with its days, compares Fly Erbil with Eurowings on the two cities they share, and tells you what to check before you book. We compare fares; you book directly with the airline or travel site.

The table shows, per city, the number of flights a week, the days they land in Hewlêr, and the days the flight back to Europe leaves Hewlêr.

On the routes from Düsseldorf, Amsterdam and Berlin the aircraft leaves Hewlêr early in the morning, around six or seven, and comes back the same day, landing in Hewlêr in the late afternoon or early evening. From Amsterdam, for example, the flight lands in Hewlêr on Friday evening. On the routes from Cologne/Bonn, Hannover and Copenhagen the flights in each direction are on different days, as the table shows.

Two things follow from this. Flying to Kurdistan, you usually land in Hewlêr in time for dinner with the family. Flying back, you often need to be at Hewlêr airport very early, so plan your last night with that in mind.

Days can change with the season or a new timetable. The search shows the real dates and times before you book.

Fly Erbil or Eurowings from Düsseldorf and Stuttgart?

Since 3 November 2026 Eurowings also flies non-stop from Düsseldorf and Stuttgart to Hewlêr. On those two routes you now have a real choice.

• Düsseldorf: Fly Erbil three times a week and Eurowings about three times a week in winter, so roughly six flights a week.
• Stuttgart: Fly Erbil on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Eurowings three days a week in winter.

The biggest practical difference is the timing. Eurowings lands in Hewlêr in the early afternoon and flies back about an hour later, so its flights to Europe leave Hewlêr in the afternoon instead of at dawn. If an early start at the end of your trip is a problem, for example with small children or older parents, that can matter more than a small difference in price.

Compare the fares of both airlines for your dates, and look at what is included: a fare with a checked bag can be the better deal even if the headline price is higher.

Eurowings has also announced routes for winter 2026/27 from Hamburg, Berlin, Hannover and Cologne/Bonn. On the last three you will then be able to choose between two airlines as well. Check-in and baggage: what to check before you book

Fares to Hewlêr differ a lot in what they include. Before you pay, check these points on the booking page:

• Checked baggage. Is a suitcase included, and how heavy may it be? Families visiting Kurdistan often travel with gifts; adding a bag during the booking is usually cheaper than at the airport.
• Hand luggage. Size and weight limits differ per airline and per fare.
• The name. It must match your passport exactly, including middle names.
• Changes. Can you change the date, and what does it cost? Around Eid and Newroz plans often shift.
• Check-in. The confirmation says whether online check-in is possible and when the counter closes. For an early departure from Hewlêr, plan to arrive at the airport in good time.

Flying from London, Manchester or Toronto

Fly Erbil has no route from the United Kingdom or North America. From London, Manchester or Toronto you change planes once, usually in Constantinople with THY, in Doha with Qatar Airways or in Amman with Royal Jordanian. The route pages for London and Manchester show which combinations exist, with live fares.

Some travellers from the United Kingdom book a separate flight to Düsseldorf or Amsterdam and continue with Fly Erbil. That can work, but it means two separate bookings: if your first flight is late, the second airline does not wait and does not have to rebook you. If you choose this, leave several hours between the flights, or a night.

Only to Hewlêr
